Polish built ships - Polen gabaut Schiffe

Beitrag von onslow »

I am interested in all kinds of information and illustrative material regarding Polish built ships and Polish shipyards after 1945 until present times.

I am in a member of Polish Shipbuilding Industry research team set up by Poland's National Maritime Museum...

Many German shipowners and operators have been in the past and/or are are still owning/operating Polish built ships.

Any information, stories, reports, ship plans and shipowners' data sheets / leaflets with descriptions of ships, photographs of Polish built ships will be much appreciated.

Hello Peter,

here are some webside that I know. The first four ones are from shipowners who had or still have vessels from polish yards. Maybe you contact them. Usually they are very kind in assisting interested people. The rest is about Polish shipyards. Hope that helps a bit.

Personally I have some photos of Sczeczin built vessels in Bremerhaven. If you are interested then send me your mail address.

hallo Sailors,
a captain told me about a newbuilding on a polish yard where he was inspector for the new owner. He noticed that the two red lights for the NOT UNDER COMMAND light were installed to close together, minimum distance is 1,50 meters. Shipyard promised to change that without complains and later he found one light transfered to the other side of the signalmast, more than 1,50 m away but now in a horizontal line!!!
Peter, do not take it personally, that could happen in many states of the world.

fair winds,

HaasenPeter
