Moin zusammen,
Mein Foto, mein Copy.
re Anfrage Sietas Typ 111c
Die E-mail von David aus Neuseeland ist wohl im "Datenuniversum" verschwunden. Hier nochmal als Kopie der PM von Oceania-Shippingforum:
Hello Dierk,
Yes I received both emails thank you - the original one and then the translation.
I replied to the second one, but it seems you didn't get it, so here's a copy of it:
"Hello Dierk,
Many thanks for the translations, I have no trouble understanding them at
all.
The reply given by Eldinsel was interesting. I knew that the "Rangikura' ex
'Northern Transporter', etc had come to grief in an I ndian port, but didn't
know the details. Please pass on my thanks to him for supplying those
details.
Andreas is correct in his assumption that 'Ranginui' is a Sietas Type 111a
(I knew that she was a standard design but couldn't remember which).
As South Pacific Shipping had three of them, I'm trying to get hold of a
General Arrangement plan for that Type, as well as a GA for the 'Rangitata'
I guess I'll just keep trying various avenues as I think of them, but if
anyone up your way has one somewhere, I'll be most grateful.
I did try contacting Sietas direct, but got no reply.
As an aside, you may be interested to know that my Great-great-grandparents
come from Hannover. Name of Hullen for GG grandfather and Wiesner for GG
grandmother.
When I was at High School, I tried to learn German, but wasn't very good and
gave up after two years. At the time, I didn't know my German connections
and probably would have tried harder if I knew.
Re your photos, I don't think there's any other way of checking their visits
to NZ/Aust/SPac apart from how you do now. You could check Port Company
websites, but records don't always appear for very long.
I'm also a member of Digital-Seas.
Thank you for your efforts, I really am most grateful.
Kind regards,
David
PS: What does Tschuss mean?"
Nochmals vielen Dank an alle für Eure Bemühungen
Tschüss aus Hamburg
Dierk
Vielen Dank euch Beiden.
@ Jörg: ... und ich suche die ganze Zeit nach Schiffen mit den Anfangsbuchstaben "Aex" anfangen. (sah beim ranzoomen danach aus).
